Cubana – Matthew Williamson at Osborne & Little
…Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there…
Barry Manilow’s Copacabana is not quite where the inspiration for the latest collection from Matthew Williamson originates from, but it brings to memory an era of feathers and colours and a variety of tropicalities… oh my!
Well-known, Brit-born designer Matthew Williamson has teamed up with Osborne & Little once again to create an explosion of colour and creativity that hails from pre-revolutionary Cuba.
Matthew Williamson visited the Caribbean Island Nation to experience first hand the rich shades of jade, peach, coral, turquoise and ultramarine that reign supreme throughout the wildlife and floral landscapes.

“The palm print was first drawn and hand painted for our summer collection in 2015. I wanted a very hand-done feel with broad brushstroke effects and to create a paper which would transport you to a luscious rich jungle setting.”

The designs are not just for soft furnishings. There is a range of fashion fabric to compliment the interiors line, with bright and vibrant colours on point for the coming summer months.
The Cubana collection has also been spotted in the New Zealand fashion circuit. Trelise Cooper has created an amzing ball gown using the Flamingo Club print from Matthew Williamson.
“I was so surpised by the amazing range from Seneca. I could have made something out of every textile on offer.” – Trelise Cooper
We are very excited to introduce the Cubana Collection to Designmade showrooms in Wellington and Christchurch.
All Osborne & Little fabrics and wallpapers are distributed by Seneca Textiles LTD.
