Libby Beattie Interior Design
Inchbald School of Design
“I’ll help you express your own style through unique furniture and furnishings, and help you design the spaces in your home to match your lifestyle.”
Libby Beattie has trained as an interior designer in London at the Inchbald School of Design in the 1980’s and then worked for ten years in Europe before returning to New Zealand. In France, she spent three years converting a fifteenth century chateau into apartments for holiday retreats. The simple elegant living of France and the European style of mixing traditional with modern design elements have been enduring influences Libby’s work.
In New Zealand, Libby Beattie has run a design practice since 1998, working with residential and commercial clients throughout New Zealand. She has also taught interior design, been the resident designer on TVNZ’s Good Morning show and worked as a set stylist for television dramas and advertising photo shoots.
“My work with clients is varied. I undertake projects of varying size – from creating individual bespoke furnishings and furniture pieces to a full interior design service. Everyone is different, but the basic formula for creating a home that you love is the same – design interior spaces that function well, keep your personal treasures close, and fill it with beautiful furniture and furnishings.”
